Top Secret: The Three Things I Do to Grow My Own Agency

The Campfire Circle is an agency that grows and optimizes agencies. Being so immersed in the agency world as the CEO of The Campfire Circle, I grow my agency while I grow my clients’ agencies as well.

And there are three strategies that in my 13 years of experience surpass all other growth strategies that land my agency business.

I want your agency to land more business without spreading yourself too thin, so I’m eager to share the top three strategies that have grown my own agency.

I’m not forgetting about referrals; they are just a little hard to control and unpredictable, so the strategies I’m presenting will bring in consistent new business.

Lead Magnets

A few years ago, cold outreach and paid ads worked to land new business. But now, they’re more expensive and less effective. However, these strategies still work when leveraging an asset like a lead magnet.

The main thing to understand about lead magnets is that they offer something of value, and your target audience must fill out a lead capture form to access them.

Think of things like eBooks, industry reports, webinars, etc.

The landing page for your lead magnet needs to be strategically and heavily promoted to generate qualified leads. Use it as your “hub” for lead gen.

And, of course, create a nurturing drip campaign in your email marketing platform to convert the people who download the lead magnet into clients of your agency.

If you want to read more about lead magnets, read this article and if you want to check out the lead magnet that has brought in the most business for my agency, you can peruse that here.

LinkedIn Automation

For agencies, the best social platform to generate leads is LinkedIn.

But, to get the most out of the platform, you need to spend hours per day to get the most value. I don’t know about you, but for me, getting the most out of LinekdIn manually was tedious.

And then I found Dripify. This platform allows me to scale my LinkedIn efforts with automation.

I uploaded lists that I had of agency owners and I also put in criteria for agencies I wanted to connect with and communicate with. Dripify connects with the target audience I set parameters for and automates dripping them messages to engage with them and get them interested in what my agency has to offer.

Once set up, Dripify runs on autopilot and you just have to keep up with the responses you get from your automated messages. Just be sure your messages aren’t super salesy at first to create relationships with your new connections.

Now that I’m able to automate my LinkedIn efforts, I land a lot of new business that I wasn’t landing when I was utilizing LinkedIn manually.

Email Marketing

When done right, email marketing brings in $36 for every $1 spent. And for my agency, this ROI has been even larger for me.

Here are a few ways to get more out of email marketing for your agency:

  • Purchase a list of targeted email addresses from a service like Lake B2B

  • Segment your leads so you can tailor your messaging

  • Drip them thought leadership content instead of salesy messages and add a CTA at the end of your emails to meet with your agency

  • Create a lead magnet to organically gather new email addresses and set up a nurturing campaign for all new contacts

  • After a new lead goes through nurturing, be sure to email them 3 times per week with thought leadership because sometimes conversion just takes a while

How to Ramp Up Your Agency Growth

If you’re able to create, publish and promote a lead magnet, you’ll see a ton of new leads to nurture. LinkedIn automation will save you a ton of time and bring in a lot of meetings. And strategic email marketing will do wonders for conversions.

However, a lot of agency owners spend a ton of time on client work and agency growth sometimes gets neglected. That’s where The Campfire Circle comes in. We have been growing agencies for 13 years and excel at the three growth strategies I’ve outlined in this post because we use them for our own agency.

So if you want to talk to me about implementing one or all three of these strategies at your agency, you can get in touch with me at kristen@thecampfirecircle.com. If you want to implement them in-house but have questions, still contact me because I do free brain storming calls.
